Dear Editor,
The recent victory by MS Kamla Persad Bissessar UNC led partnership collation is a timely reminder to all
‘Doubting Thomases’ that change is not impossible.
There are many who thought that it was an impossible task to be achieved after political dominance by the PNM.
However, the people were tried of corruption, bad governance, lavish and wasteful spending of taxpayers’ monies and an administration rocked by numerous scandals, so they chose change.
The naysayers are now silent, because they are ashamed to acknowledge that people will not stoop to bad governance.
Here in Guyana race based politics has plagued our nation for over 40 years, it has destroyed our pride and identity as a prosper nation which has tremendous potential to become self sufficient.
That is why being a part of a younger generation, I feel compelled to speak out against race based politics, it is a monster which needs to be crushed and banish from our land.
Within this context the T &T elections should be an eye opener to all Guyanese that we can become agents of change and help shape a brighter future for all Guyanese.
