Up to press time yesterday police were still unable to locate the black wagon which was involved in a hit and run accident at Diamond, East Bank Demerara.
Meanwhile, the two injured persons, Orlando Mc Arthur and his wife, Maria Stephens, remain hospitalised.
On Sunday night the couple who hails from La Parfaite Harmonie, West Bank Demerara, was on motorcycle, CF 4868, when they were stuck head on by a black wagon.
Eyewitnesses said that the driver of the car did not stop to see what transpired but just fled the scene.
One man told this newspaper that he tried to block the driver’s path but the occupant managed to flee and turned into Times Square Street, Grove.
This newspaper was informed that moments before the incident Mc Arthur and his reputed wife, who is said to be pregnant, were at the Diamond Diagnostic Centre.
Persons said that the woman visited the institution enquiring about an ultrasound but was told that she should return in the morning.
This newspaper was told that the couple left and shortly after public spirited citizen returned with the injured couple. They were both treated and subsequently transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital.
