St John’s College 2010 Reunion, dubbed “MEETING WITH A PURPOSE” is set to begin July 4 in Guyana. Much is planned for the event.
Based on reports, the idea got started with a group of friends just sitting around on a weekend that was disastrous for most as Hurricane Ike was wreaking havoc.
To pass the time, one of the co-ordinators said that the group was reminiscing about the good old days at school and names start calling. The rest is history in the making for the institution.
The St John’s Reunion 2010 Group was created on Facebook. A lot has happened as friendships have been rekindled and new friendships have been formed.
Now, while the old students and new ones are getting together to have fun, they are ‘MEETING WITH A PURPOSE’ with old students drawn from countries around the world to socialise and do some fund raising at the same time.
It is the intention for all to have as much fun as possible while strenuously working towards meeting a goal.
A large contingent is expected from overseas to attend this first reunion and an appeal is also being made to home based old students to come out in their numbers to support this week of events for SJC.
Among the Committee members are Paulla De Souza – Events Co-ordinator, Trinidad; Denise St John, USA; Andrew Claxton, Canada; Carol Bishop, USA; Lewis Lee and Donna Johnson, Guyana.
