Dear Editor,
I refer to a letter on 21/05/10 under the title, “Kudos to those who have sought to upkeep our wonderful radio tradition.”
I must say that I quite agree with all that was said about radio in Guyana over the years. However, radio coverage only extends to a certain part of Guyana. Guyana is after all 83,000 square miles.
I am a keen listener of the radio although I watch the television. At the moment I am working in the interior of Guyana in the West Bank Essequibo area. I am unable to receive NCN or Voice of Guyana where I am residing and I would appreciate it if NCN could do something for its listeners in the interior of Guyana.
I love listening to all the lovely oldies when I am in town that the writer of the article mentioned. Being in this location radio serves as a companion, information guide and entertainment. So I would appreciate it if NCN could improve its coverage and reception to these parts of Guyana.
I am in a logging concession area 70 km from the West Bank of Essequibo.
