Dear Editor,
Reference is made to your editorial of Sunday June 20, 2010 titled “Cricket Criminals”.
In return for nine (9) votes pledged by the Demerara Cricket Board the Head Honcho of Guyana’s Cricket, Mr. Chetram Singh ceded some of the most influential positions to persons whom he knew are– to use your words “incestuous grifters”- Many of these persons never had a track record of achievement in cricket nor any other kind of administration.
Mr. Singh knew this, but, once assured of the Presidency (and directorship of the West Indies Board) anyone could have had anything, provided they brought votes to the table.
I further agree with you that the Aegean stable needs to be cleaned and a new team elected to take charge.
