Contrary to an article carried in this newspaper’s June 15 edition, cocaine was not found on a Roraima Airways Charter.
The Kaieteur News article had stated, “Also on Thursday last, a quantity of cocaine was found on board a Roraima Airways charter which was destined for Trinidad en route to Canada. This newspaper was told that the cocaine was found by ranks of the Police Narcotics who were conducting duties at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport”.
Evidence reveals that the cocaine was found concealed in a FedEx package before it was placed on the flight.
It was discovered by the agents at the scanner.
Kaieteur News apologises for any inconvenience this erroneous report may have caused.
