Mike Guyadin had an inspirational day on the golf course and eased to victory in the Muneshwar’s Ltd. sponsored Father’s Day Medal Play golf tournament Saturday at Lusignan Club.
Guyadin recorded a net 65 from a gross 79 playing off a 14 handicap to emerge winner beating his nearest rival by four strokes. There was a close battle for second position but it was the recovery of third place finisher teenager Avinda Kishore, who despite making 8 on the 14th hole, rebounded to claim a place on the podium.
Kishore (net 69 gross 82 handicap 13) and second place finisher Sookram Deosarran both ended on 69 but Deosarran (net 69 gross 78 handicap 9) claimed the prize on a countback.
Previous winner and tournament sponsor Robert Hanoman playing off a handicap 23 turned in a creditable performance to end with net 72 from gross 95.
Mohanlall Dinanauth was Nearest to the Pin on hole number 8. Robin Muneshwar who represented Muneshwar’s Ltd. thanked the players for participating in the tournament.
This weekend’s Medal Play tournament will be sponsored by Safeway Security Ltd.
Meanwhile, plans by the Club to publish a magazine in association with Guyana Entertainment Magazine (GEM ) is progressing and former President Mel Sankies has requested that any former member with information on the Club to contact him.
