The Guyana Amateur Boxing Association (GABA) continues to solicit sponsorship from the corporate community to offset the huge costs required to field a team of the country’s best boxers to the upcoming Central America and Caribbean (CAC) championships, scheduled for Puerto Rico starting on July 22 next.
Yesterday afternoon the executive of GABA was once again the recipient of a handsome package, this time from the GTM Insurance Company. The gift which will ensure that at least one of the pugilists make the Puerto Rican trip, was handed over at the Main Street office of President of GABA, Steve Ninvalle.
Senior Sales representative (GTM), Ramesh T Persaud and Marketing Rep of the same organization, Anita Shivprashad, handed over the cheque and re-endorsed her organization’s commitment to the development of local sports. She further wished the boxers the best of luck in their endeavours.
Treasurer of the GABA, Dexter Patterson received the cheque on behalf of his executive and the boxers and relayed his heartfelt gratitude to the sponsors.
