Father’s Day could come a day early for some golfers as they battle for attractive prizes in the Annual Muneshwar’s Ltd. Medal Play Golf tournament today at Lusignan Golf Course.
The tournament is being played in tribute to fathers, and it is hoped that a father come out victorious since a previous Father’s Day tournament was won by a female member of the Club, Melissa Humphrey.
The tournament is sponsored by devoted golfer Robert Hanoman who won two years ago which adds intrigue to the event.
Hanoman is also in top form following his win in last weekend’s Banks Light Beer Competition but will be hard pressed this time round with keen rivalry expected from William Walker, Patrick Prashad, Muntaz Haniff, Bolaram Deo, Ian Gouveia, Maurice Solomon, Mike Guyadin, Brian Hackett, Melissa Humphrey, Clifford Reis, Carlos Adams, Colin Ming, Mark Lashley, Ronald Bulkan, Esau Shamshudin, Andre and Bruce Cummings, Gavin Todd and new club president Lester Alvis.
Club captain Patrick Prashad disclosed that there will be a shot gun start so players are requested to assemble at 12:15 hours for Tee off at 12:30.
Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers as well as Nearest to the Pin.
Meanwhile, Safety Securities Ltd. will sponsor next Saturday’s tournament at the course starting at 12:30 hours.
