After spending years in the shadows, Paul Meusa made his returned to form clear Monday night when he won the Men’s Singles title to bring the curtains down on the Guyana Table Tennis Association’s (GTTA) 2010 Independence Tournament.
Meusa defeated Jonathan Sankar 13-11, 11-7 and 11-5 in the final of the men’s playoff after he had beaten Oliver Hickerson in a more competitive game 12-10, 11-9 and 12-10. Sankar won his semi-final game 5-11, 11-8, 13-11 and 11-4 against Dwain Dick.
In the senior Mixed Doubles final, Trenace Lowe and Edinho Lewis defeated Adielle Rosheuvel and Joel Alleyne 11-7, 11-8 and 11-6. Nigel Bryan and Chelsea Edghill defeated Natalie Cummings and Dwayne Gibson 3-2 for third place.
The presentation ceremony is set for Friday at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.
