Dear Editor,
I congratulate Magda Pollard for her years of service fighting for women’s rights and raising the bar for women not only in Guyana but throughout the Caribbean.
The article (Kaieteur News, 13-06-10) was a well written piece on her.
My question to Magda Pollard is who will take up where she left off in fighting for equal rights, pay and positions for women in Guyana?
Guyana is still a male dominated government in every sector.
The rising abuse against women and children is on the rise and no one in particular is taking steps to defuse that rising crime.
We need more women in government positions. How do we get there? Where do we start?
Again, thank you Magda Pollard for your years of dedication and hard work.
I hope you can and will inspire others to continue where you left off in raising the bar for women in Guyana and everywhere else.
Mrs. J
