Residents of Fourth Street, La Penitence, were upset yesterday after a homeless man who was struck down by a vehicle two days ago, was left lying on the street.
The police visited yesterday at around 12:00 hrs and residents urged for an ambulance.
However, shortly after 17:00 hrs, the man was still there.
Residents also claimed that they called for the ambulance a few times and none came.
Kaieteur News called for one yesterday afternoon and the female dispatcher at the Georgetown Public Hospital promised to immediately send one.
The injured man said that he works in the La Penitence market and all he wanted was to go to the hospital since he has been unable to stand up since the accident.
