How much land a man really need? Dem boys still asking that question and people giving all kind of answer. One man seh ask Lumumba; another seh ask Nokta and things like that.
Dem boys brave because dem ask Lumumba and he tell dem that a man need all de land he can get, even if he can’t do nutten wid it. He even get vex when he claim how first was Cheddi, then Bharrat, try fuh tek way he land.
Nokta smart. He tek land wheh he know people don’t guh suh he didn’t have no problem. But dem boys does remember certain thing. Dem remember a story ‘bout a man who get a chance fuh get all de land he want. All he had to do was mark off all wha he can in a day and whatever he get when de sun go down is he own.
Dem boys seh that Lumumba did done mark off he own when he get in de accident and he is de one who mek people really understand how much land a man really need. Six feet from head to toe. Some li’l tall suh dem might tek seven feet wid three or four feet fuh de shoulder.
But fuh all that dem still grabbing. Is de same thing wid money.
