The DDL/Topco Juices Open Chess Tournament is scheduled to get underway at the KEI-SHAR’S Sports Club-Camp & Hadfield Streets this Saturday June 5.
In keeping with an earlier commitment to sponsor the tournament, DDL Brand executive, Alexis Crawford, handed over a cheque to Treasurer of the Chess Federation, Shiv Nandalall at a simple ceremony at the Keishars Hadfield Street store, yesterday morning.
The Brand executive relayed her company’s commitment to the development of chess while committing to more support in the future.
“Chess is a small but growing sport and DDL is extremely delighted to contribute to that development,” Ms Crawford said.
Mr. Nandalall expressed sincere gratitude for the gift saying that it would go a far way towards chess development. In this photo, Mr. Nandalall collects the gift from Ms Crawford The tournament is open to seniors, juniors and beginners who are 13 years old or under.
