Dear Editor,
I take great care to not be judgmental. It is my strong conviction that there is only one qualified to truly judge us, but I would like to express an opinion on a matter which has been worrying me for quite sometime.
Approximately eight months ago, there were quite unsavory allegations made against President Jagdeo’s Information Liaison Kwame McCoy.
These allegations were obviously denied by Mr. McCoy, but the efforts to get to the bottom of the matter seemed less than energetic.
All the individuals and entities in a position to discern fact from fiction seemed less than enthused to get clarification.
The frivolous excuse given by all and sundry was that the other individual, purportedly a male teenager, simply could not be found – much in the same vein as the notorious Rondell ‘Fineman’ Rawlins. And even he was eventually rooted out!
But let me get to the point. In this entire morass, one thing was pellucid. The Head of State, despite the fallout which included a visa revocation, was firmly behind his man.
This, quite frankly, speaks volumes of not only the President’s tolerance level, but by extension, how little regard he and his administration have for those who want to be led and guided by persons of sound repute.
