Regional Executive Officer of Region Three, Winston Reginald Davidson, died sometime around 02:00 hours yesterday at the Georgetown Public Hospital. Davidson was 50.
His wife Vanessa told this newspaper that her husband came home from work on Monday saying that he was not feeling well and was also complaining of chest pains. Mrs. Davidson said her husband went to bed as normal but after the pain continued on Tuesday morning she decided to take him to the Georgetown Hospital. She said after being examined by a doctor he was admitted.
The woman said upon his admission she left for home and on Wednesday she visited him at the hospital during regular working hours. Mrs. Davidson said she decided to call the hospital at around 03:00 hours yesterday and received the shock of her life.
“I checked the directory, got the number for the hospital, when I called a nurse told me that my husband died earlier and she enquired if no one had informed me and I told her no.” The grieving woman added that she visited the hospital where she was required to identify her husband’s body. The woman said her husband had over the years been battling with diabetes.
Winston Davidson had been holding the post of Region Three Regional Executive Officer for the past five years. Prior to taking up that designation he was the Regional Executive Officer for Region Nine and was once the paymaster for the Ministry of Local Government.
He has been married for the past 13 years and is the father of three, ages 5, 6 and 14.
