Govt spokesman knew of Kissoon’s attack in advance

Information is now circulating that someone in the government employ knew long before hand that there would have been an attack on Freddie Kissoon.
People are now reporting that early Monday evening, a spokesman in Office of the President telephoned National Communications Network (NCN) asking the Editor, Michael Gordon, to be on the lookout for “something big within the hour.”
That same Monday night, someone hurled fecal matter at Freddie Kissoon, soon after Kissoon had entered his vehicle on Light Street, Bourda. Kissoon had just made a purchase from Nigel’s Supermarket.
After making the purchase, Kissoon walked back to his vehicle which he had parked by Jiffy Lubes.
The government and numerous agencies, including the Guyana Press Association, have since condemned the act. And in the wake of its broadcast, NCN issued a statement to distance itself from the accusation that it knew the perpetrator.
The news entity had reported through Edward Layne, that it had spoken to an eyewitness to the attack and that it had corroborated the story. Kaieteur News then reported that since the eyewitness account of the incident was way off the mark, the corroboration could have only come from the perpetrator and that NCN knew the perpetrator.
This latest development suggests that NCN through this government spokesman not only knew the perpetrator but also knew about the incident before it happened.
The same night, President Bharrat Jagdeo’s liaison, Kwame McCoy, denied any knowledge of the matter. He was contacted by Kaieteur News.
