Belladrum Mayfair, pageant set for tomorrow

Belladrum Secondary School will rock with activity tomorrow night when the school’s Annual Mayfair and Beauty Pageant begins.
After the traditional Maypole dance concludes with the plaiting of the Maypole, 11 young beauties will compete for the crown in the pageant sponsored by the parent-teacher association of the school.
First runner-up of the 2008 pageant, Lucy Ann Bernard, is trying her luck once again, and as the only contestant with some experience. She therefore has an edge over the other girls.
The PTA is mandated to organise fundraising activities to financially assist the school with the purchase of needed items. The annual Mayfair and pageant is one of those activities. This year the proceeds will go towards the purchase of a Public Address system for the school.
Head of the school’s Allied Arts Department Ms. Coreen Gravesande is the co-ordinator of the day’s activities which begins at 3.30 pm.
