Stewartville, Vreed-en-Hoop, La Grange all registered wins when play in the West Demerara Essequibo Island Circle Tennis Sub-Association (WD/EI CTSA) / AL Sport & Tour Promotions Inter Schools Independence Mixed team Circle Tennis tournament commenced recently, at the Uitvlugt Community Centre.
In results of the matches played:

Stewartville defeated Uitvlugt.
Stewartville made 96-4 off 30 deliveries with Kevon Boodle hitting a top-score of 59.
Uitvlugt in their turn in the Circle were restricted to 82-6. Rawle Pile made 31.
Debutant Vreed-en-Hoop then created an upset when they beat Region 3 team L’ Aventure.
L’ Aventure made 92-2 with Xavier Rodney belting 42.
Vreed-en-Hoop replied with 93-5 off 28 deliveries. Julius Griffith 38 and Creston Rodney 31 were the principal scorers.
La Grange then eased past Leonora.
Leonora made 56-2 with Aubrey Green making 24 and Andrea Fields 13.
La Grange Post Primary hit off the required runs with 12 deliveries to spare. Delon Dalrymple hit 30.
Meanwhile, Regional Education Officer (REO) Marlyn Jones – O’Donoghue declared the event open which also had in attendance Culture, Youth & Sport Region 3 Officer Hazel Wilson, President of the WD/EI CTSA Mark Walkes along with teachers.
