New Building Society Ltd. New Amsterdam, Berbice Branch, recently made monetary donations to a number of charitable organisations in the Ancient County as the financial entity seeks to continue empowering organisations and the community as a whole.
Anil Beharry, Senior Manager of the Society’s Berbice Operations, presented the cheques to representatives of the various entities. He stated that the NBS was very pleased to give back to the communities in which it serves.
Beharry challenged other organisations and businesses to take a lead from NBS in assisting with the day-to-day financing of Orphanages, Day Care Feeding Programmes and other charitable activities in the Ancient County.
These organisations, Beharry noted, play a major role in the reduction of crime and criminal activities. The Senior Manager also urged the leaders of the organisations to work hard to attract more membership so that everyone can contribute positively to society.
The recipients were very grateful for the donations and urged the public to continue to support the NBS.
