Lightning struck Lima Sands Primary School recently and damaged several electrical appliances. The newly built school is located four miles inland and west of Anna Regina.
According to teachers attached to that school, the lightning struck at a time when the school was in recess. The teachers also claimed that the school’s computer was affected and several light bulbs were also destroyed.
The school which is of concrete construction appears to exhibits signs of disfiguration of its pathway foundation. The sand foundation is shifting and is in deed of urgent repair. The Lima Sands are not fertile and have a tendency of shifting.
One resident, Donald, complained of being affected by the lightning which he said has destroyed his television set, DVD player and other bulbs.
Five other residents of that same area have also complained of their electrical equipment being damaged by the lightning.
