A man and two youths from Diamond New Scheme are currently in police custody assisting with investigations after they were accused of sexually molesting two underage girls.
The mother of the girls, aged seven and nine, told this newspaper that the story began to unfold after relatives came to her earlier in the week enquiring about the girl.
“One ah dem aunty come and ask me how dem girls doing and they tell me that dem hear dem boy in de area does trouble de girls.”
The woman said that having been told this she began conducting her investigation. Her daughters, she said, then revealed that their father and two boys from the area had ‘interfered’ with them.
The man, who is currently in police custody is the biological father of the seven-year-old and is the step-father of the nine-year-old.
Meanwhile, the children’s mother told this newspaper that she was always suspicious of the two youths who are in police custody. She said that her reputed husband always tried his best to facilitate the youths.
The woman said that on more than one occasion the youths would come her home calling for her daughters.
“I would chase dem and tell them dat these is girl children, so find they age group to play with, but they father does always say left dem, is they friends; nothing wrong if they go play li’l bit,”
She said that after the story broke and after she questioned her daughters they revealed that on several occasions they were taken to a home not far from where they live and the boys ‘troubled’ them.
She said one of the girls told her that her father ‘wine up pon she and suck she breast’.
Meanwhile, this newspaper has since been informed that a medical examination has revealed that the girls were indeed molested.
Up to press time yesterday the two lads and the children’s father were still in police custody.
