Bandits struck on the West Coast of Demerara on Saturday night, robbing a family at gunpoint.
The robbery occurred at Uitvlugt at around 20:00 hours, during which Krishnadat Ramroop, 30, and his family were attacked and robbed by three men, one of whom was armed with a handgun.
Investigations revealed that Ramroop along with his wife and son were at home when the men entered through an open door and held them up.
The men then tied up the victims with duct tape after which they took away $400,000.00, a quantity of jewellery and a cell phone and escaped.
And on the East Coast of Demerara, at about 02:10hours yesterday, Harrinarine, 37,owner of the Underground Bar at Lusignan Railway Embankment, along with two males and a female patron were attacked and robbed by three men, two of whom were armed with firearms.
According to the police the victims were at the nightspot when the perpetrators entered and held them at gunpoint.
The bandits relieved their victims of a total of $308,000 and two cell phones and escaped in a waiting motor car. So far there have been no arrests in the two incidents.
