Dear Editor
I refer to statement made by Mr Carvil Duncan of the Guyana Labour Union, on behalf of FITUG. He said, among other things on National Television, that persons who participated in the 2009 Labour Day march were associated with political parties and not bona fide trade unions
What is wrong with Duncan? Is he losing his marbles? Labour Day is for workers; ‘ all workers, housewives, gardeners, porters etc, unionized or not.t
All the peoples of this nation have contributed to the economic development and are therefore classified as workers. Mr Carvil Duncan should not make such embarrassing statements.
Cde Hubert Nathaniel Critchlow would be crying if he were alive today to hear such a statement coming from the lips of one who professes to represent the working class of Guyana
Was Duncan in Labour Day marches when we marched trough Durban Street in front of the Wotmanville Housing Scheme where Skibby lived and we stopped and bowed to him then continued through Vlissengen Road with our parade? I guess not for was he in the of class 1960-70 he would have been more matured
It is easy for him to ridicule the working class people of Guyana now. I wonder how he think he is? He drives a fancy vehicle paid for by the workers’ union dues
People like Bros Berry, Gussie and others must be crying shame. Can Mr Duncan say if the G L U was ever in South Road between Light Street and Albert Street?.
