GLASGOW, BERBICE – Police in Division B have sought the advice of the Director of Public Prosecutions on the way forward in the probe into the death of 31-year old Lilowtee Seeram called ‘Pinky’ of Lot 1068 Glasgow New Housing Scheme.
Rooplall Boodhoo, the woman’s reputed husband, who is said to be the main suspect, has since vanished. Based on information received by police ranks, the man is believed to be hiding out in Berbice but all checks came up empty handed thus far. Detectives followed leads provided as far as Montrose on the East Coast of Demerara with no luck.
The police are once again appealing to persons with any information on the whereabouts of Rooplall Boodhoo to contact the nearest police station. The man is also wanted in connection with injuries inflicted on his 52-year old mother-in-law Lata Inderdeo which she sustained during the same incident.
About 01:30 hours on March 27th, Lilowtee Seeram, a mother of two, was severely chopped three times and died while receiving treatment at the New Amsterdam Hospital.
Her mother Lata Inderdeo, who was been living with the couple, sustained chops to the right shoulder and the palm of her left hand. She was hospitalized and subsequently released. It is alleged that during a fracas the suspect wounded both women then fled the scene.
