Play continues tomorrow at the Georgetown Football Club ground when action in the Annual Mayor’s Cup football championship resumes with quarter-final play starting at 6:00pm with a double header.
The double header opens with the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) opposing Uprising, while the nightcap brings together Alpha United and Riddim Squad.
Teams in this round will be looking to advance to the final four where they have the chance to cash in on the lucrative prizes, inclusive of the first prize of $500,000, while $200,000 goes to the second placed finisher, third receives $100,000 and the fourth placed side collects $50,000.
The second set of quarter-final games will be contested at the same venue on Wednesday May 5 with Santos opposing Seawall FC and BK International Western Tigers and Fruta Conquerors.
