The management of Castrol, Waterloo Street, South Cummingsburg had injected a little ‘lubricating oil’ into the Pro/Am boxing card with a substantial monetary donation to the organizers. The gift would be used to facilitate payment to six boxers involved in the promotion.
President of the Guyana Boxing Board of Control, Peter Abdool received the gift on behalf of his organization and expressed heartfelt gratitude to the sponsors. He reiterated that such chivalry was needed within the boxing fraternity if local boxers were to make the international transition.
Meanwhile, Company Secretary, Abdool Kadir and Castrol Brand Manager, Leonard Khan was on hand to present the gift to Abdool. Both gentlemen reiterated their company’s commitment to the development of the sport. “We are always open to such assistance and would continue to render such services,” assured Mr. Kadir. Mr. Khan concurred while reminding of his company’s corporate intervention in a plethora of sports activities. Mr. Abdool expressed his gratitude while assuring that the donation would go a far way towards the boxer’s development.
