Physically challenged cyclist Walter Grant-Stuart who has been a force to reckon with on the local scene despite losing his right hand in an accident some years ago, received a special donation from the Persaud family, sponsor of last Sunday’s 80-mile road race along with Raymond Khan.
Grant-Stuart, who has defeated many of the big guns in Guyana and has placed in the top flight on many occasions, did not place among the top guns but finished the grueling event to the delight of Mrs. Persaud and her family who decided to reward the rider.
At the presentation ceremony, Grant-Stuart received a special reward for the determination shown in finishing the race, maneuvering the hills up and down on the Linden Soesdyke Highway.
