National all-rounder Deon Ferrier starred with the bat and ball over the weekend for Aranguez against Curepe in the 2-day National League competition.
Aranguez won the toss and scored 402-3 dec with former Trinidad and Tobago under-19 player Javed Boodram top-scoring with 82 and Ferrier supporting with an enterprising unbeaten 77.
In reply Curepe were bowled out for 175 with Boodram taking 7-53 and Ferrier 3-43 as the pair also tormented the opposition with the ball after their fine work with the bat. Following-on, Curepe were dismissed for 180 with 14-year-old Triston Singh taking 4-20 with his left arm spin and Ferrier 3-27.
Guyanese Kellon Carmichael, who plays as a medium pacer and batsman, was asked to wicket-keep due to the absence of the regular keeper and showcased his all-round ability by not conceding a bye in the game. He also had 3 dismissals including impressive glove-work to stump the dangerous Shawn Sookial for 71.
