A vagrant identified only as Roy, was found dead under the Avinash Store on Saffon Street, Charlestown, Georgetown yesterday.
The man was clad in a long black pants and long sleeve brown shirt with blue vest. He was lying on a cardboard.
According to a security guard in the vicinity, the man had been lying on the ground motionless for the entire day. He said that when he checked the man appeared to be dead. “The last time I see he move was Wednesday.”
One of the man’s associates said that Roy was suffering from stricture (sign of prostate cancer) and needed medical attention.
“We called the ambulance 17 times”.
Another associate said that the man would normally drag himself when he wanted to move, he seldom would walk. The man is said to be in his 50s and was the father of five.
