The Guyana Audiovisual Industries Network (GAIN), which was formed in 2009 to elevate skills and competencies of people who work in the creative industries, will be launched tomorrow. The Network will be hosting a symposium at the National Library to coincide with World Intellectual Property Rights Day, which is marked around the world.
The theme of the symposium is: “Intellectual Property Rights for Value Added Development in Guyana.” Guest speakers lined up for the event are Dr Hillary Brown, Programme Manager – Culture & Community Development at the CARICOM Secretariat and Mr Teenie Housty, Attorney At Law.
People who are members of GAIN include film, audio visual producers, creative/graphic artists, service providers and lawyers. Others include training and development professionals who are interested developing unique learning products that tap into the intellectual capital of the cultural sector, which includes music, video and film.
