Police have recovered the cash stolen from the Ruimveldt Police Station, in which a Lance Corporal has been fingered.
The lance corporal is presently under close arrest after investigators reviewed the tapes recorded from a close circuit cameras in place at the station.
No one had initially admitted to removing the cash but a review of the recorded camera images yesterday showed the cop removing the money.
In a press release issued yesterday, the police said that they are investigating a matter of simple larceny of $211,905 which was stolen from the office of the Subordinate Officer in charge of Ruimveldt Police Station between 20:00hours on March 19 and 08:00hours on March 20. The police said that the monies represent salaries for ranks.
