National awards is a thing that does mek people proud. Some people, when dem get it, does wear de thing even when dem sleeping. One man use to tek de award from he clothes and put it pun he towel when he go to de bathroom.
Well de government done wid that and all because Uncle Freddie, Uncle Glenn, Uncle Adam and dem Peeping Tom qualify.
When dem name come up, de committee put a tick near dem and forward de list to Bharrat. Well is deh de story get sweet. Being de diplomat, Bharrat tell dem to lef de list and he would ratify it. De list still deh pun he desk.
Then he get another list. This one had Anand Persaud and Anna Benjamin from de Big Market paper. That list, too, deh pun Bharrat desk fuh ratification. Is nearly seven years and de man can’t ratify dem two list.
Well dem boys got a plan. Dem decide that dem gun nominate all dem people fuh a special award—De Worst Guyanese in de world.
If de truth is told, de government scrap de national awards because every time de list come up dem same name gun appear. Imagine Bharrat got to shake Uncle Freddie hand pun stage and pin on a medal. Of course, dem boys seh that de mere thought of boring Uncle Freddie wid de pin is a pleasant thing but hen all is said and done, he got to give de man an award.
He already planning to change de age of retirement at UG but he waiting till Freddie retire at 60. And dem boys seh that is a few more days.
And dem boys want to know if Hand in Hand making another error in judgement. It invest in Sanford and lose. It invest again.
