James Hart has been retained as skipper of Scottsburg United when they play Floodlights B tomorrow at the Crabwood Creek Cricket Ground for the annual Bier Singh Memorial Trophy. The team also comprises of many players who played for the CWC Unstoppables in the recently concluded nationwide GT&T 10/10 softball finals. CWC Unstoppables were runner up after loosing to Trophy Stall.
The Floodlight B will also have several players who played for the victorious Trophy Stall team in the GT&T 10/10 finals. The last match played in October 2009 at Bourda between these two teams, ended up in a tie. It was decided by a super over with Scottsburg United being the eventual winner.
Regardless of weather conditions the match starts at 9:30am when the Crabwood Creek Heroines play last year winner Corriverton Queens for the Prakash Singh Memorial Trophy. There will also be a cash donation for the winners of this female match, complements of Pawan Taxi Service of #72 Village, Corentyne.
The second match will be between Floodlights A and Vishnu Superstore and both teams have already announced their squad earlier. The last time these two teams met was in Orealla during the Amerindian Heritage month when Floodlights A defeated Vishnu Superstore. The third match will be between Scottsburg United and Floodlights B.
Medallions will be given to all three winning teams, complements of Rohan Auto Spares of Mahaica and Steve Jewelry of Church Street, Georgetown. There will also be a raffle drawing after the matches with the prizes being donated by Mike’s Pharmacy and 4R of Georgetown. Admission is $100 and these matches are played as a Fundraiser for the Crabwood Creek Sanatan Mandir. All Trophies are sponsored by Ganesh Singh & Brothers Sawmills of Crabwood Creek, Vishnu Superstore of Springlands.
