Domino players to clash in honour of Johnny ‘Overseas’ Barnwell

Domino players along the East Coast corridor are gearing for competitive action when the South Turkeyen Sports Committee (STSC) in collaboration with Johnny ‘Overseas’ Barnwell stages a one day, 6 team domino competition at the Liela Hideout, Better Hope Line Top, ECD today starting at 19:00hrs. The tournament is arranged in honour of the birth anniversary of Barnwell who would be celebrating his 64th birth anniversary today. Several teams are expected to resume rivalry and include Shem’s Team and Liela’s Team among others. Trophies and other lucrative prizes are up for grabs.
Registration of teams would be conducted at the venue up to two hours before double six time. Interested teams are asked to contact Mr. Barnwell at telephone # 689-7037.
Barnwell has been in the forefront of sports organization for 25 years. During that time he has organized football tournaments, athletics meets, basketball competitions and domino tournaments among others.
This tournament would also serve as a fitting tribute to a man that has worked tirelessly in the development of a plethora of sports disciplines.
