Berbice must win outright to take title
After being denied the opportunity to beat Essequibo outright at Anna Regina on Tuesday due to the decision of the Umpires to end the match due to bad light and delaying tactics from the home team, Berbice must defeat Demerara in their final round GTM under-19 three-day cricket tournament which starts today at the Police ground to retain their title.
Demerara hammered Essequibo in the opening round inside three days at Uitvlugt while Berbice were 13 short of victory with six wickets in hand when the game ended prematurely in Essequibo to set up the deciding round from today in the city.
Play is scheduled to commence at 10:00hrs and a keen contest is anticipated since several national under-19 players including First-Class pacer Keon Joseph should be on show.
