Dear Editor,
Rose Hall Town Sports Club middle order batsman Assad Fudadin’s elevation to the West Indies A team to compete against Zimbabwe continues an unique Berbice tradition.
The left handed Fudadin will join fellow Berbice lefthanders Derrick Kallicharran, Mahendra Nagamootoo, Clayton Lambert, Andre Percival, Sewnarine Chattergoon, Narsingh Deonarine.
All of the above mentioned had the honour of representing the West Indies A team in the past and ironically like Fudadin all of the above bat left handed and are right hand bowlers.
Strange enough only three other Berbice A team selectees are not in that category: Sudesh Dhaniram, Leslaine Lambert and Brandon Bess.
The first Berbicians to wear the maroon cap for the West Indies A team are Derrick Kallicharran and Leslaine Lambert.
