Play in the Mayor’s Cup football championship will continue on Friday at the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) ground with a double header starting at 6:00pm.
The Guyana Defence Force come up against BV Triumph in the opening encounter with the army side looking to continue their recent victory march after the recent disappointment of being knocked out of the CFU Club championship.
The nightcap at 8:00pm features defending champions Pele coming up against Seawall FC.
This promises to be a keenly contested affair with Seawall expected to come at the defending champs hard, while Pele will have all intentions of advancing further in the reckoning to keep their crown and cash in on the $500,000 first prize.
More play is set for next Wednesday at the same venue with Riddim Squad facing Grove Hi Tech and Alpha tackling Victoria Kings.
Meanwhile, their was a change to the originally set fixtures with Riddim Squad, who suffered the loss of a club member, requesting a change and the organisers and teams concurred to them trading dates with GDF.
