A North East La Penitence family is extremely perturbed at the manner in which the Guyana Power and Light Inc. has strung up a connection that traverses their property.
The Wilson family who resides at lot 509 North East La Penitence, yesterday showed this newspaper the tacky manner in which the connection was made to the point that it has become a life and limb concern, given that the electrical wire is literally resting on their Aluminum zinc roof.
It was explained that on Thursday last, officials from GPL were observed on a dam aback of the Wilson’s house.
The officials then asked to use a structure in their yard so that they could elevate themselves in a position to hoist the line over their house.
This was agreed to with the intention that the wire would be strung high above, but this was not the case.
On the dam aback of the House, the GPL officials put in place a makeshift pole which up to yesterday was already on the verge of collapsing under the weight of the wire, which was used to divert the cable to the intended destination.
The family members are hoping that GPL remedies the situation sometime soon before someone becomes the victim of an electrocution or worse.
