Play in the 4R Masters Cup and Females softball cricket tournament organised by the Guyana Softball League in collaboration with Floodlights Association continued recently with several matches.
In Masters Cup action at the Ministry of Education Ground: Savage Masters XI defeated Floodlight XI by 5wkts with Fallim Mohamed (67) guiding them to victory to continue his rich vein of form in the competition.
Savage Masters XI won the toss and inserted Floodlight XI who scored 167 all out in 24.5 (Wayne Jones 77; Richard Persaud 40; Wallack Joseph 3-33 from 5 overs; Vicky Ramsaywack 3-30 from his 5 overs) Savage replied with 168-5 in 21 overs (Fallim Mohamed 67; Hardat Naraine 48; Dharam Persaud 2-20 from 5 overs).
Industry Super Kings then mauled Mahaica Masters by 10 wkts and finished the fastest match in the tournament in the process.
Mahaica Masters XI batted first and scored 32 all out in 6 overs (Bainey Raj 3-5 from 5 overs) In reply Industry Super Kings made 33 without loss in 1.1 over (Mark Mangra 30 not out which included four sixes).
Regal Masters XI got a walkover from De Hoop SC.

Meanwhile, in the Female Category, Berbice Zone, Number 68 All Stars XI defeated Red Rose XI by a massive 75 runs.
Number 68 batted first and scored 195-5 in their 15 overs (Christine Matheson 97; Urmilla Branditt 2-30 from 3 overs) Red Rose in reply were limited to 118 all out in 12.2 overs (Indramattie Gopee 23; Kumari Durjohn 3-7 from 2 overs).
The Female tournament continues tomorrow with the Linden Zone Finals from 2:00PM. Ituni Warriors take on Coomaka Blazing Fire SC Umpires Sydney Cumberbatch & Sherwin Graham calling play.
