Dear Editor,
I would like to endorse the writer from Essequibo in one of the newspapers highlighting the faults of the Minister of Agriculture Mr. Robert Persaud. You cannot have a boy do a man’s job.
The pandit failed and Robert Persaud caused the downfall of the sugar and rice industries. If only we had more plain spoken farmers like that writer, this country would have been better.
Everyone is afraid to speak out because somewhere down the line there is some ‘freeco’.
It’s plain to see that Robert Persaud is a failure. Skeldon factory and the Rice industry, reading in the papers all who have honesty in their views should speak out.
This is our country and we can’t stand idly by and see our agricultural sector die. Look at the squander mania, and before the year ends billions more will have to be budgeted for this ministry.
He does not have administrative skills to be a minister of Agriculture, Do it now. Reshuffle the Cabinet. Some have to go. This is not politics. This is the failure of this beautiful country.
Mr. President, what about juice extraction factory to take our citrus fruits? How many of you out there knew that there was a lime processing factory at Providence on the East Bank?
How many of you ever tasted the British Guiana Lime Factory juice that was produced? Corn and peanuts are bountiful.
What about if we set up industries to process these products? This is what the Agri. Minister should focus on.
I wonder how come the American Government demanded free and fair elections in 1992 and just stand by and do nothing about the embezzlement of our country. The funded projects all around are fraud. Come on, ABC countries, it’s time to make a move on this government.
Refusing visas to your country is not enough. This is a new year, let’s have accountability. I am a pensioner and my life has been wasted with both the PPP and PNC. It is time now for all who passed through the 60’s to have a better life.
The El Nino fiasco was highlighted by the writer, in Berbice, New Amsterdam all the canals flooded from Canje Creek.
Sugar is suffering and the minister is spending left, right and centre towards dead crops around the country.
Replace this minister. Keep him near you to write your speeches.
