Dear Editor,
I read with interest the induction of a new batch of Peace Corp volunteers to serve in the various sectors of Guyana, more particularly the Education and Health sectors.
These volunteers are providing a high quality of service to the Guyanese people and have demonstrated over the years a high level of commitment and dedication to their jobs.
Their conduct and work ethic is deserving of emulation especially by our locals many of whom have never visited the hinterland communities, much less to offer their services there.
These Peace Corps volunteers like those from Project Trust and VSOs have demonstrated a remarkable capacity to adapt to the local environment in particular the interior locations. As such they should be commended for the disciplined approach with which they approached their assignments.
I take this opportunity to congratulate the new batch of Peace Corp Volunteers and I wish them well.
Annie Rose
