Dear Editor,
Opposition Leader, Robert Corbin has announced his decision not to run for president at the upcoming 2011 general elections.
This latest move has come as no surprise to those of us who have tested the political pulse of the opposition; this political party has been in the intensive care unit for quite sometime now and the inevitable was bound to show up sooner than later.
But some things do not make sense; it just does not add up, why now.
What took him so long to make that all important decision after going through the embarrassment of being accused of rigging his party elections to stay in the leadership as the only candidate for the presidential race? Why did Corbin go through all the pains staying in the race even to the point of tearing his party into splinters only to relinquish that position now, why?
The answer I am about to give comes from an article I penned sometime ago and the substance of that article a devout member of the PNC revealed to me.
The fact of the matter I am told is that Corbin may be sick and it is only right and proper that he bows out now or suffer the ignominy of another defeat.
