New boxing Gym opens in Berbice

The new established Central New Amsterdam Boxing Gym, situated in the Central Police Station compound recently opened its doors to be the second gym in the county.
The other Berbice gym is the ‘Pocket Rocket’ Boxing Gym which is being guided by Flyweight boxer Orland ‘Pocket Rocket’ Rogers.
Former national Flyweight and Bantamweight Amateur and professional Boxing Champion, overseas-based Jeff Roberts, is the Coordinator and Chief Executive Officer.
President and head coach is Abid ‘Shanghai’ Ali. Monty Bovell, another former amateur boxer and Treasurer of the Gym also doubles up as coach.
The gym currently has about 25 members.
In picture some executives and members of the newly formed Central New Amsterdam Boxing Gym pose for a photo opportunity.
Absent are Secretary Usani Garraway and former national amateur boxers Desmond Kelly and Aubrey Cadogan assistant coaches.
