– Steady progress being made
Former motor bike champion Kevin Jeffrey, who made the switch to motor car racing after suffering a horrific crash many years ago speaking with Kaieteur Sport following his victory in the final Group 4 race said that even though the feeling was a good one, he prefers to win with everyone in the race.
Jeffrey was referring to the early exit of the two other favourites in the race Andrew King and Mark Vieira, whose chances evaporated shortly after a slight collision with each other that resulted in damaged tyres, forcing them to abandon the race.
Jeffrey went on to win the event to crown a memorable day after registering two second place finishes in the two previous races.
He said that he felt he should have won the second race, but made a critical blunder that created some problems for the machine.
“The Boost Controller and the main Intercooler hoses burst and I begun to experience some problems with the turbo,” Jeffrey disclosed.
He, however, stated that the car is heading in the right direction, adding that with all the hard work that was done, they are seeing progression.
He pointed out that the Meet was very important for their plans and served as a warm-up for the Caribbean Series which begins in Jamaica.
He revealed that he will be installing a new engine by the time they are ready to compete in Jamaica and expressed confidence that his team headed by Brian Ten-Pow and also includes John Seabra, Rajin Rajnaram and Omar Crespo of Florida have all worked extremely hard to get the car in the kind of competitive shape and he indeed grateful to them.
