Tiger Bay kicked off the start of Digicel’s FIFA World Cup promotional campaign with a thrilling 1-0 win over arch rivals Albouystown in the final of the Street Football Competition which was held at the Burnham Basketball Court on Saturday evening.
Keoma Gravesande was the man leading Tiger Bay to the top cash prize and trophy. Members of the winning team also received a FIFA World Cup bag and tee shirt.
Goals were hard to come by throughout the competition which attracted teams from Kingston, Lacytown, Alberttown, West Ruimveldt, Lodge and Campbellville.
Tiger Bay booked their place in the final after getting past Lacytown on penalty kicks while Albouystown needled Kingston. Members of the other teams were also recipients of FIFA World Cup giveaways.
Digicel CEO Gregory Dean who was on hand to witness the exciting final and group games, said he was pleased to see game that were played at a very high standard noting that the players are very skillful.
Dean congratulated the winning team and all the others who participated in the competition.
