Dear Sir,
I refer to an article carried on page 27 of your Issue of Thursday 25th March, 2010 under the caption “Ranks of the GCUC are on a mission to disrupt progress”.
In this article, the PRO Mr. Grantley Culbard laments the practice of persons being changed at general meetings even though they might have performed well.
I agree with Mr. Culbard totally but question the silence of so many when an attempt was made to change Mr. Bish Panday in January, 2008 as head of the Georgetown Cricket Association even though he had performed outstandingly in 2007.
More recently, Mr. Alfred Mentore was changed as head of the GCA even though he had an outstanding year in 2009.
The same Mr. Colin Alfred who recently headed the Umpire’s Council and whose removal Mr. Culbard questions is now part of the new GCA. I hope he was not part of the inner circle that planned Mr. Mentore’s ouster.
Grateful if you can give this letter same publicity as Mr. Culbard’s article.
