Richmond Youths, Henrietta, Lima and Anna Regina have qualified for the semi-finals of the Guyana Cricket Board 50-over U-19 cricket competition in North Essequibo.
In matches played recently, Anna Regina defeated Young Warriors by 44 runs, Lima got the better of Henrietta by 11 runs and Richmond Youths overcame Anna Regina by 5 wickets.
Scores: At Lima: Richmond Youths 177 all out in 43 overs (Keron Sewnarine 43, Haiman Kowshaldeo 35, Jonathan Gopaul 4-41, Quanzo Success 3-44). Young Warriors 133 all out in 40 overs (Gossai Persaud 42, Q. Success 34, Kowshaldeo 5-37, Sydney Peters 2-42).
At Lima: Lima 242 all out in 45 overs (Faizal Karim 78, Nimron Bahaden 62, Mark Tyrell 5-47, Grensville Badrinauth 3-50); Henrietta 231 all out 49 overs (Christopher Blucher 67, Vishnu Murray 65, N. Bahadur 6-40, Abdool Shazim 2-51).
At Anna Regina: Anna Regina 127 all out in 42 overs (Kishan Jaikaran 30, Tameshwar Dhanpaul 27, Keron Sewnarine 5-34, Hariman Kowshaldeo 2-40). Richmond Youths 128-5 in 33 overs (K. Sewnarine 40, H. Kowhsaldeo 22, T. Dhanpaul 3-31, K. Jaikaran 2-40).
The semi-finals will be played tomorrow with Richmond Youths doing battle with Henrietta at Lima and Anna Regina hosting Lima. (Zaheer Mohamed)
