The Ministry of Culture Youth & Sport on Wednesday handed over a set of uniforms to the President of the Guyana Amateur Powerlifting Federation (GAPF) for the National team competing in 4th Annual International Powerlifting Federation (IPF), North American Powerlifting Federation (NAPF) Caribbean Islands Bench Press & Powerlifting Championships which lifts off at the Princess Hotel today.
Minister Dr. Frank Anthony handed over the uniforms to President of the GAPF Peter Green with a number of the other athletes present. Team Guyana has promised that they will do their best to make Guyana proud as hosts of this competition for the first time.
Dr. Anthony was the Patron of the Local Organising Committee and has been very supportive of the GAPF. The Ministry also presented a new set of internationally acceptable weights last year which was used at the Senior Championships.
