The action is expected to be keenly contested when the Guyana Draughts Association (GDA) hold what promises to be its biggest ever tournament since its formation in January.
Attractive cash prizes are on offer for the GDA’s National Draughts competition set for tomorrow (Saturday) and Sunday at the Guyana National Stadium at Providence. Players will battle in ‘A’ and ‘B’ categories.
Registration will be done at 09:00hrs on each day and participants are reminded that late registration will not be accepted. Director of Sport Neil Kumar will make a presentation of Draughts pieces and trophies to the association prior to the start of play.
According to the GCA, several businesses have thrown their support in ensuring the prizes are availably for the outstanding performers in both categories and the raffle to be drawn this weekend.

Meanwhile, the GDA Raffle will be drawn at 17:00hrs tomorrow March 19 at the Stadium and the first prize of a bicycle has already been donated by P&P Insurance Brokers.
